·         Army Burn Hall School and College.

Army Burn Hall College is a premier educational institution in the beautiful valley of Abbottabad. It has two campuses– one is Army Burn Hall College for Girls and other is Army Burn Hall College for Boys.

History:

Burn Hall was established at Baramula in 1943. It was named after an English Manor House – a Hall with a small stream – Burn running through it. After partition of the subcontinent, it was shifted to its present location in Abbottabad in 1948. In 1956, a separate building was constructed and boys from grade Six to Senior Cambridge were shifted there. It was called Senior Burn Hall. However, the junior school retained its traditional character as a residential public school for boys till grade Six.

Burn Hall School functioned under the control of a missionary organization called Diocesan Board of Education Rawalpindi. In 1975-76, the Board handed over the institution to Pakistan Army. Accordingly, on 13th January 1997, it was renamed as Army Burn Hall. The Junior Burn Hall School was later upgraded to an intermediate college in 1991 and is now known as Army Burn Hall College for Girls.

Management:

The College is managed by a Board of Governors under the patronage of the Chief of the Army Staff. Commander 10 Corps is the Chairman and Commandant Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul is Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors.

 

 

 

 

Army Burn Hall College for Girls:

Its educational spectrum spans from Prep to Intermediate. It has been upgraded to degree level from the academic session 1999. In the next phase it will be upgraded to postgraduate level in September 2001. It has co-education in the junior school, which also offers boarding facilities for boys till grade Six. Thereafter the boys can continue their studies in the Army Burn Hall College for Boys. The college campus is situated in the heart of city on the Karakoram Highway (Mansehra Road).

Army Burn Hall College for Boys:

Army Burn Hall College for Boys is one of the few residential institutions in the country, which takes keen interest in the intellectual and moral growth of the students.  Induction of students into the college begins in grade seven. The college runs secondary and higher secondary school classes. It offers two distinctly different courses of study for external examination– one is The Senior Cambridge ‘O’ level and other is the secondary and higher secondary curriculum prescribed by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad. The college campus is situated near Mandian on Mansehra Road.

·         Pak IT Center

Pak IT Center has been recently established in order to contribute to the national effort on promoting IT activities in the region. Pak IT is the approved study center of the Skill Development Council (SDC), which is a joint project of Ministry of Labour, Manpower & Overseas and Chamber of Commerce & Industries in collaboration with World Bank and United Nation International Labour Organization (UN-ILO). Pak IT has the following features:-

·         Pak IT is the only center in Abbottabad that has been established by foreign Investment.

·         It is the biggest IT institution, in the town so far.

·         State of art PCs and computer hardware have been installed in the labs.

·         Offers computer studies for beginners’ as well as highly professional people.

·         Customized training according to the participants’ specific demand can be arranged for groups.
