• Civil Defence

Along with Civil Defence Office, working under Interior Ministry, a Civil Defence Organization is functioning in Abbottabad City.  The Civil Defence Organization consists of Government Official i.e. Chairman/Administrator Municipal Committee as Chief Warden, and volunteers from private sectors e.g.:-

 

·       Mr. Mian Tariq, Additional Chief Warden;

·       Mr. Fazel-ur-Rehman, Deputy Chief Warden;

·       Mr. Mumtaz Ali, Divisional Warden;

·       Mr. Aurangzeb Khan Jadoon, Deputy Divisional Warden;

·       Mr. Khalid Waheed Qurashi, Group Warden;

·       Mr. Ghulam Qadir, Deputy Group Warden; and

·       Mr. Kamal Ahmed, Post Warden City.

 

At present there are 282 volunteers working in the Abbottabad District under Civil Defence Organization. They are ready to meet any emergency.

 

Both the organizations fight emergencies together. The functions of both organizations are:

·       Civil Defence Training;

·       First Aid;

·       Fire Fighting;

·       Rescue Services;

·       Flood Relief;

·       Bomb Disposal; and

·       Fighting against any Emergency situation in the area.

 

Civil Defence office also publishes articles, reports and/or other informative materials for general public awareness.
